Narrative

The server will help keep the student module available 24/7 for the students to track their records and applications such as Traineeship and scholarship; they will be able to apply and submit all the required documents online. Also the students will be able to submit all the required information to apply to our programs such as RN-BSN and DNP Programs.

It will allow the students to work with the advisor and provide a better/faster admission process for the RN-BSN program. This in turn would enable the student to view the advising sheet online at any given time to review the courses that are pending or need to be completed. For the DNP program the server will import the processed applications from BANNER and so that the student can apply to the supplemental College of Nursing application with a much ease due to the streamlined process.

The current students from our graduate program (850 approx. per semester) will use the server to store and access the records for their clinical practice that they are attending and assisting with. This information will assist in all the parties to be connected and be in continuous communication with the hospitals, institutions, doctors, preceptors, faculty and students. The server will also be able to connect with another software called eLog and transfer electronic information of the student’s clinical practice to be analyzed by the eLog.

It will improve the functionality of the new syllabus repository system and will keep the content updated for the student. Once the faculty releases the syllabi, it will be available 24/7. This new module will allow the student to have the latest syllabi available for them at all times.

Another feature of the server is having a replication database that will allow us to keep a backup of all student records. This module will automatically send (in real time) any new record that occurs in the operational database to the replication database.
