Narrative

Teradici Cloud License Currently, the College of Engineering and Computer Science use devices known as zero clients in all of our labs. The zero clients have a proprietary piece of hardware called the tera chip. This chip is from the company Teradici. In order to update and manage these devices, we now need to pay a small license fee. To manage these devices in the past was zero cost. However, they have just implemented a new model that requires this license to be able to manage and update these devices. We are asking for $6,066.00 dollars from the tech fee committee to purchase this license. This is the most cost-effective option; the alternative is replacing all of our devices in the labs which would yield a significantly higher cost to the college.
