Narrative

Drop in tutoring in the Math Learning Center (MLC), which includes the SAM Lab, has increased 395% in the last 5 years from about 3000 student visits per semester in 2012 to over 15000 student visits per semester in 2017. We are in need of a way to properly assist students coming for drop-in tutoring with their math courses. Currently, they raise their hand and hopefully are seen in some sort of order by the tutors who roam the rooms. We are changing to a drop-in tutoring que listing which allows better structure and support of the students. This is available through TutorTrac and we have already purchased two licenses, along with the support necessary, and with the assistance of OIT we plan to test this over the break and implement it in the Spring 2018. We are in need of monitors linked to TutorTrac so students have an idea where they are in line in the que for assistance. We met with OIT and received the attached quote to put monitors in the MLC and SAM Lab.
