Narrative
There are many educational benefits that ATI offers to the students. ATI’s approach is to ensure that students are exposed to all 512 tasks that are associated with the NCLEX to prepare students for not only their time in the nursing program, but also post-licensure as they transition to practice. One of the ways ATI achieves this is to ensure that post any assessment within the ATI platform, each student will receive an individualized focused review to target their individual remediation needs. This remediation includes hard copies and eBooks of the ATI review modules, videos and active learning templates to help master content areas where the student has shown to have weaknesses. The second benefit to students is that they have access to learning tutorials in Pharmacology, Dosage Calculation, Critical Thinking, Skills and other content areas to help them learn the content before testing and applying their knowledge in the clinical setting and practice. These offer media rich content that actively engage students and offer quizzing and case studies to ensure comprehension of the content. In addition, students receive access to many practice questions in both a traditional and adaptive format so that students are exposed to content, as well as experience to the setting that they will have when taking boards. Simulations - students are immersed in real-life examples of content which allows each individual student to work through the activity and the performance is based on their individual results. This allows each student to develop strong clinical judgement and critical thinking skills in a safe environment. At the end of the program, students are given numerous NCLEX preparatory tools including a 3-day Live NCLEX review which is guided by an NCLEX specialist who provides the workshop to ensure students are best-prepared for their pending NCLEX.
College of Nursing would like to support the students with a portion of the required ATI software fees.

The benefits of using ATI during COVID for remote learning
ATI understands the stresses that COVID-19 has placed on students and faculty with the adjustments to both remote learning and potential lapses in clinical placement. ATI has developed online clinical plans for each of our resources that produce any simulation capability to ensure students are prepared with realistic, trackable, & insightful plans to best utilize our resources. Many of the ATI resources that FAU uses in their package, include specific and detailed lesson plans to help faculty transition to an online environment. In addition, the tutorials, remediation and test questions that that students have access to are available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The simulation resources that FAU has available through ATI each come with a detailed clinical day replacement lesson plan should the program need clinical hours while institutions do not allow students in them due to COVID.
As far as ensuring students can continue their content diagnostics, we have fully integrated remote proctoring services that have been available since April 2020. This allows any changes to on-site testing to quickly pivot to remote testing while ensuring security, reliability, and data collection can continue.
ATI has transitioned to fully virtual NCLEX review that still offers the students the needed preparation for boards but in a safe environment. Experienced educators lead these reviews in an interactive, engaging way to ensure students remain focused on the benefits of these reviews. Student satisfaction scores and outcomes still show that these virtual reviews are highly effective during COVID-19.
Timeline
As soon as the funds are available, the process will start. ETA March '21.
