Narrative
The College of Business (COB) is requesting funds in order to upgrade the Technology/AV Equipment in Davie West, Classroom 110 (DW 110). This would be a joint project handled by jointly the COB and OIT.
Currently, this classroom is available to all students. However, the Technology/AV Equipment in this classroom is dated and it is no longer meeting the on-going demands of FAU courses and students alike. Funding is hereby requested to modernize the Technology/AV Equipment to bring this classroom to FAU-OIT standards given the on-going usage of the classroom. The design of the project will be flexible enough to host several types of classes AND match the rest of the Technology/AV Equipment already deployed in all other 1st floor Davie West classrooms. The plan would be to commence the project once the Tech Funds are received. The number of students impacted is approximated 400-500 per semester.
After the upgrade is completed, DW 110 will have the ability to be used more heavily by the COB, CON and by other colleges/departments. In addition, the upgrade will give FAU-Broward another classroom that can deliver online courses which is much needed in our current environment.
The total cost of the DW 110 Project is $91,629.53.
AVI_SPL Quote (attached) = $76,829.53
Mediasite Recorder (RL220) = $9,800.00
Facilities Upgrades:
Reworking of the Ceiling Tiles and Grid = $2,000.00
Electrical = $1,500.00
Data Ports - $1,500.00
Tech Fee Funds = $ 51,000.00

The Facilities upgrades will be minor and consisting of the items noted below:

See the attached quote from AVI-SPL. In addition, one Mediasite Recorder (RL220) will be purchased.

Personnel Costs
There will be no personnel costs associated with this proposal. All labor is included in the AVI-SPL quote. In addition, COB IT and OIT will work in conjunction on this project with no additional personnel costs.
Timeline
The project will commence once the Tech Fee Funds are allocated to the project and COB.
Sustainability
With the completion of the proposed upgrade project, the classroom would be useable by multiple people and/or departments for at least five years.

The College of Business is proposing the following in order to fully fund this project.
Total Project Cost = $91,629.53
Tech Fee Funds = $51,000.00
College of Business Funds = $40,629.53
This will be a joint project orchestrated by the COB and OIT with funds contributed from the Tech Fee and the COB.
