Narrative

Campus Logic develops and increases the scholarship fund utilization, improves student engagement by alerting them to relevant scholarships, and reduces student borrowing with mobile and personalized management. It increases the efficiency in personnel costs and allows FAU to remain competitive with other state universities that have decreased their scholarship award times and are able to process the scholarships earlier in the admissions process. Each student will receive an unique, personalized view of the scholarships that they are most qualified for based off student data. The platform saves time for students, reviewers, and administrators by streamlining the scholarship process. Campus Logic integrates with FAU’s student information system, providing the needed information to match students with scholarships automatically and helps administrators make awarding decisions faster, ultimately saving time, energy, and resources for all parties. As current process is manual, with over 11,400 student applications to read and review, the cost in manpower hours is staggering. At an average wage of $23.44 and an estimated 1 hour of processing time per application, the estimated cost of awarding institutional scholarships is $267,216 per year. In addition, during the past scholarship application cycle we were hampered by large numbers of ineligible students applying for scholarships not directly applicable to their background or qualifications which increased the processing time and cost to FAU. Software Requirements

Our proposed technology fee project is the addition of Campus Logic to the Office of Student Financial Aid. Campus Logic syncs with Banner and WD without additional purchases. All scholarship financial and student information relative to scholarship decisions will be online in one place which would save file room and storage costs.

Personnel Costs

Unlimited support includes Campus Logic onboarding, integration and technical support, as well as unlimited regular webinar trainings and adoption strategy support. There is no additional staff needed.

Other Costs

The initial cost of the program to implement is $121,900 plus an annual service fee of $88,880. Technology fee request is only for the Year 1. Student Financial Aid will fund the project beyond Year 1.

Timeline

Implementation of Campus Logic is typically completed in about 3-6 months using a highly consultative process proven successful at hundreds of institutions.
