Narrative
We are upgrading tools and equipment for this class and new to buy new boards. (a) This course became course course and more students are registered and hence more board is required. (b) The technology is advanced and we need to by the state-of-the-art boards to teach our students to be ready for internships and market.
Facilities
Hardware Requirements
100 FPGA boards need to be purchased for the Design of Digital Systems Class. Student will program into these boards and learn hardware design skills. This is an important course as US is pushing for CHIPS Act and hardware skills will be more and more required and students will gain these skills in this class. Nexys A7-50T (previously known as Nexys 4 DDR)
Software Requirements
Software will be provided for free though the company. Xilinx Vivado will be available for free for academic use.
Personnel Costs
There is no additional personnel cost. Implementation of this hardware will be performed by the college of engineering and computer science technical service group

We want to buy these boards ASAP and get them ready for the Spring 2023.

These boards will be used for at least 3 years depending on the advancement of technology.
