The goal of this proposal is to purchase Matlab Toolbox licenses which will allow for Distributed, Parallel, High performance computations. These Toolboxes will allow all Faculty and Students to take full advantage of the High Performance Computing clusters at FAU.
???Matlab is software used for making large numerical computations. Within the Science and Engineering fields, the mathematical models and data sets can require millions of calculations, which can take days, or weeks to complete. Using Distributed Computing Toolbox, this work can be spread over multiple computers in parallel, greatly reducing the runtime.

Matlab core licenses are already owned by Engineering.
If funded, the software licenses will be purchased and made available immediately.
The toolbox licenses will be purchased with an additional 2 years of maintenance. The licenses will be available for 3 years total from the date of initial purchase.
