Narrative
Covidence is the world’s leading software for managing and streamlining systematic and scoping reviews. It is a cloud hosted software, and it offers an average 35% reduction in time spent per review, saving an average of 71 hours per review. Having access to Covidence would immediately benefit students in the College of Education, College of Nursing, and College of Medicine who are already completing and publishing systematic and scoping reviews and could be extended to virtually all the disciplines offered at Florida Atlantic University as systematic and scoping reviews can be completed on any topic. Obtaining a university-wide subscription to Covidence would support the FAU Libraries’ strategic goal of championing student success through alignment with the University’s research and instructional mission. Additionally, having access to this software could increase the number of students conducting and publishing research in the form of systematic and scoping reviews which would support FAU’s goal of becoming an R1/Top 100 research university.
The acquisition of the Covidence software will immediately impact the 319 students in the College of Medicine, the 1,320 students in the College of Nursing, and the 1,925 students in the College of Education where students are already publishing systematic and scoping reviews. The unduplicated count of students impacted will be a total of 3,564 at a minimum. However, because systematic and scoping reviews can be published on nearly any subject and within any discipline, with proper marketing the software has the possibility of impacting every student at Florida Atlantic University.

Sustainability
