Narrative
The NU-84/213 Ph.D. Computer Lab was created to allow our Ph.D. students to have a dedicated place on campus to use while they are pursuing their Ph.D. degrees. Each PhD student is assigned their own workstation which they use to research, study, and process data when needed. Therefore, it is crucial that the computer hardware is up-to-date and powerful enough to handle the workloads that the PhD Students may have while they do their research. In addition, having a dedicated workstation for the Ph.D. student is needed as it provides them with the accessibility and convenience of accessing all FAU’s resources while on campus. Currently, the computers in the Ph.D. Computer Labs are around 6.5 years old and as time goes on, they are more prone to hardware issues or failures. In addition to the standard software offered through university, we wish to purchase EndNote to be installed on all computers for the lab. EndNote is one of the best reference management software available on the market which can help in writing research papers. It is already a very popular software with students and faculty. By getting this software for the lab, we can provide the tools necessary to help students succeed in their courses.
