Narrative
This proposal aims to support students in passing the GK exam and professional for students who are in need of additional support. 240 Tutoring is an online program that provides content modules, quizzes and practice tests. Their mission is to help as many teachers and future teachers as they can in passing the teacher certification exams. They continuously review state changes and requirements and revise their materials to align with those changes which the state of Florida has recently done. 240 Tutoring recommends 3 to 4 months of prep which equate to 3-4 credits per student. This proposal would provide teacher candidates with the materials needed to prepare to be more successful when completing the 240 test prep program the way it is designed. 240 Tutoring works on a credits purchased system. We have currently piloted the program and have seen student success when they devote the time to preparing (See student testimonials below). By being able to purchase 900 credits this proposal would allow 225 students to prepare to pass at least one test to either enter their program or move on to student teaching or degree completion over the next three years. 240 Tutoring has a money back guarantee for students who complete the entire program and have a pass rate on the practice quizzes. Successful passing on the state certification exams would help reduce the teacher shortage by helping teacher candidates to meet state certification criteria and fully completing a teacher preparation program as opposed to a general studies degree from the college.(For additional information on https://www.240tutoring.com/)
