Narrative
I am proposing a small upgrade to the AD-102 eClassroom on the Jupiter campus. This is an important classroom for active and collaborative learning with group workstations (see https://www.fau.edu/oit/news/are-you-ready-for-ad-102/). The room is set up with 6 workstations, each with a computer and large screen with a table and 4 chairs to enable collaborative learning. However, the current keyboards that we have for the workstation computers only allow limited ways that students can interact. I am proposing to purchase a drawing tablet for each station so that groups are able to work together and with the instructor in a more effective way. By adding the drawing tablets, we can greatly increase the functionality of the existing technology that is already in the room. For example, this will allow students to quickly draw diagrams and equations during group problem solving, which can then be shared out with the rest of the class using the existing system set-up. I estimate that this will impact at minimum 200 students per year, and estimate that this one time purchase would continue to have an impact for at least 7 years (total 1400 students).

Hardware Requirements
There are two good options for drawing tablets at the same price point, we will choose one based on availability at the time of purchase: 1) Huion Inspiroy 2 M: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNQ6QM64/?th=1 or 2) Wacom Intuos Small Bluetooth: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079J2FSQ7/?th=1. Each tablet is $80-$100 and there are 6 workstations in the classroom. Therefore, we are requesting a total of $600.

Timeline
Fall 2024: Apply for technology fee funding Spring 2025: Complete project -- Purchase drawing tablets and set up in classroom From when the project is approved, we anticipate it will take 1 week to purchase the tablets and 1-2 weeks to set them up in the classroom. Therefore, we expect to complete the project by the end of Spring 2025.
Sustainability
I estimate that this one time purchase would continue to have an impact for at least 7 years without the need for any further work beyond running any necessary updates on the hardware drivers.
