The HBOI campus is spread out
over many acres, and although we are an environmentally friendly campus with
several LEED buildings, we are not taking advantage of new energy resources for
campus activities. The HBOI research campus has several labs and dorms with
outdoor WI-FI, but the students do not have access to phone or laptops chargers
when they are outside a building. This device serves as a collaborative venue
for work or a chance for individuals to work on projects outdoors. The Solar
powered table has been successfully used on the Boca and Jupiter campuses, is
wind tested, energy efficient, and loved by students.
