Narrative
The College of Business (COB) is requesting funds for renovating the presentation technology in DS 103. Originally designed as a seminar space, DS 103 has seen much better days. It has been heavily underutilized due to its lack of modern audiovisual technology and dated infrastructure. The intention of this proposal is to transform it to C-suite style seminar room that both students and faculty can make use of. The flexibility we would like to buildout in it will allow the hosting of medium sized classes and meetings. Its current furniture seats 24 in-person, but with the renovation will expand to being video conference ready and serve as an excellent classroom, recording, and interview space, enabling it to reach a wide audience. This space could also serve as a location to showcase and install advanced technical and AI-enabled solutions that both students and faculty could take advantage of.
The current technology in this space is not functional at all, rendering the room useless. Funding is hereby requested to modernize the technology and its related infrastructure within DS 103 and elevate it to FAU-OIT & College of Business standards. Should 100% funding not be available, the College of Business would absolutely be open to a partial and/or joint funding model.

Personnel Costs
No new personnel costs will be needed on this proposal. Any additional labor will be done by the College of Business Technology Services department in conjunction with OIT.

Labor will be done by the College of Business Technology Services department in conjunction with OIT. Any additional labor will be minimal and would be done by FAU approved contractors, installers, vendors, and electricians as applicable.
Timeline
Depending upon the fund allocation date and parts availability, the College of Business would like to start and complete this project before the start of the 2027 Spring semester.
Sustainability
With completion of this renovation by 2027, DS 103 will provide FAU students, faculty, and staff with a C-suite seminar space for the next 5-7 years and only need minimal adjustments along the way.
Resource Matching
Should 100% funding not be available, the College of Business would absolutely be open to a partial and/or joint funding model. The COB will also initiate improvements to the walls, floors, and general aesthetics of the room.
Implementing Organization
College of Business Technology Services, OIT, FAU DCS, and other FAU approved contractors, electricians, and architects as needed.
