Narrative
The purpose of this upgrade is to improve the quality and clarity of lecture recordings in classroom BC126 by installing tabletop microphones. This upgrade will ensure that student questions and instructor responses to questions are captured clearly, enhancing the learning experience for both in-person and asynchronous students.
Students rely heavily on lecture recordings to succeed in their coursework and prepare for high-stakes exams like Step 1. According to our Learning Resources Survey, students often lose context when audience questions are not audible. Tabletop microphones will capture these interactions creating a more immersive and complete recording.
This project supports what we already know works: giving students better access to high-quality learning materials improves their performance and confidence. By upgrading the technology in BC126, we’re making sure students can hear and see everything they need—whether they’re in the room or watching later. It’s a practical step toward making education more inclusive, more engaging, and more effective.
How will students benefit from this project?
- Improved clarity and context in lecture recordings
- Enhanced student engagement during Q&A sessions
- Better preparation for exams and clinical reasoning
- Enhanced access to virtual guest lectures
- More inclusive learning for students who miss class or need review
