Narrative
- This TechFee request is for software package called Solidworks, a 3D CAD Modeling tool. This software is currently in use by multiple disciplines on campus, including Engineering, Biology, Art, and also FAU High students. The Campus license will support 500 users.
- The College of Engineering course “Engineering Graphics”, teaches students to use this software, which supports an average of 80 students per semester. The Formula Race Car team (a multi-disciplinary team) uses the software heavily to design and custom manufacture components for their car. Students in School of the Arts also use Solidworks to design their projects.
- We will setup a secure web page, with FAU account authentication, which allow students to view information needed to access the software, or download and install to their own systems.
