Narrative
This proposal seeks to increase the technological capabilities of the Visual Arts and Art History Sculpture Studio at the Boca Raton campus for the benefit of all Visual Art and Art History students. The funds requested will bring the sculpture facilities/studio to match the current university classroom standard. This will not only increase program quality for current students, but will play a significant role in recruiting high quality, digital-age students to the graduate and undergraduate ranks. The funds requested will go toward the acquisition of: a PC laptop and a Data Projector. These technological tools will enhance the learning environment for all Visual Art and Art History students. By making VA107 a smart classroom, it becomes an “active” place for a free exchange of ideas. This upgrade will produce concrete possibilities so our students can display projects and conduct presentations. The upgrade will also give professor teaching in the VA107 classroom proper technology to give image based lectures and teaching presentations. This technology will update and influence the curriculum of all 3D Design Foundations classes (a required class for all VAAH student) through Advanced Sculpture, as well as student clubs, and interdisciplinary research groups. If proposal is accepted, over 400 VAAH students will be impacted over the course of two years.

The studio will require new electrical outlet in the wall in order to support new technology. -Install duplex receptacle for lectern by window on East wall.
