Narrative
This Technology fee proposal is being submitted for upgrading the classroom technology in six of the College of Education classrooms. The classrooms have out-dated audio/video switching equipment that is no longer supported and at their end of life. The classrooms also have computers and document cameras that are five years old and out of warranty and should be replaced to ensure classroom reliability. The classrooms are all located in the College of Education on the Boca Raton campus: ED118, ED313, ED332, ED333, ED457, ED464.
Having updated working technology in our classrooms will enhance the teaching and learning experience of College of Education instructors and their students. An effective teaching environment is essential for the College of Education to fulfill the needs of their instructors and students to allow for proper delivery of educational materials. It is necessary to upgrade the classroom technologies for our faculty and to enable our students to be trained and ready to enter into a modern classroom within the school districts of Florida and the rest of the nation.

Timeline
We will purchase the desktop computers and AV equipment as soon as funds are released and implement the tech into the rooms during the Summer 2018 semester break.
Implementing Organization
The College of Education tech staff will purchase and install the desktop computers into the classrooms. The College tech staff will work with OIT AV services to procure and install the AV equipment into the classrooms.
